Lawrence "Skip" Champion, 74, of Deer Run Rd., Clinton, husband of Luella M. (Austin) Champion, died Tuesday, September 4th at home. Born in Old Saybrook he was the son of the late Edward and Susan (Gildersleeve) Champion.
He is a retired foreman from the Connecticut Water Company in Clinton, a Korean War Veteran and a former Auxiliary State Trooper.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Andrew Champion and his wife, Kimberly of Old Lyme, and Scott Champion and his wife, Terri of Massachusetts.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 10th at 1:00 pm in East Cemetery in Cromwell with the Rev. Martin Gibbs officiating.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to VFW 9918, Jeptha Lodge 95, Clinton, CT 06413 or to an organization of the donor's choice. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at the website of www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
